School Closure 9th March 2026 - Curriculum Day
22 Dec 2025

School Closure 9th March 2026 - Curriculum Day

Foxton Beach School will be closed on Monday, 9th March, for a Ministry of Education-directed Curriculum Day.

As part of the nationwide rollout of the new Mathematics Curriculum, all schools are required to take two professional learning days in 2026.. We’ve been fortunate to be accepted for professional development alongside several other schools in our Kahui Ako, and this will be the first of our two scheduled days.

Our teaching team will be off-site participating in this important learning, and as a result, the school will not be open for students on that day.

Thank you for your support as we continue to strengthen our teaching practice and provide the best learning experiences for our tamariki.

Board Update: ERO
5 Dec 2025

Kia ora koutou Whānau

Foxton Beach School is on a continuous improvement journey, and the Education Review Office (ERO) recently conducted a review.

Senior leaders are preparing for 2026 and welcomed ERO’s advice, which included a focus on assessment systems. Staff are also planning for government curriculum updates and national reporting.

While with us, ERO acknowledged the following strengths sitting at the heart of Foxton Beach School:

  • Positive, respectful relationships between teachers and students.
  • Inclusive learning environments where children feel known, supported, and safe.
  • Strong support for learners with additional needs, with initiatives that affirm identity, belonging, and wellbeing.
  • Leadership building clear expectations for teaching and learning across the school.
  • A proactive Board and leadership team, now working closely with the Limited Statutory Manager to strengthen systems and practices.
  • Focused work is underway in literacy, including targeted professional development and coaching.
  • A well-resourced school with environments that enable calm, productive learning.

We remain committed to ensuring every child experiences high-quality learning and a strong sense of belonging. Thank you for your continued support.
